Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance & Monitoring
  • Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994) and Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (FMA 1967).
  • Ensure all workers and subcontractors follow safety rules, wear proper PPE, and work safely.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and rectify unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain safety records, incident reports, toolbox meeting records, and inspection checklists.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts to the Safety Officer or Project Manager.
  • Assist in preparing safety reports and submitting them to DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) when required.
  • Training & Awareness
  • Conduct daily Toolbox Talks and weekly safety briefings for all site personnel.
  • Ensure new workers undergo site safety induction before starting work.
  • Promote awareness of safe work practices and emergency procedures.
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Ensure all fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency equipment are in good condition.
  • Participate in emergency drills and safety exercises.
  • Coordination & Enforcement
  • Liaise with the Safety Officer, Site Engineer, and subcontractors to identify and control site hazards.
  • Stop any unsafe act or work until corrective action is taken.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
  • Audit & Inspection
  • Assist during internal and external safety audits.
  • Participate in regular safety inspections with consultants, clients, and authorities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
  • Certification: Must possess a valid Green Book (Site Safety Supervisor Registration) from DOSH Malaysia.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years working experience in construction or industrial sites.
  • Knowledge:
  • OSHA 1994 & related regulations
  • Safe Work Procedures and Permit-to-Work systems
  • Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification (HIRARC)
  • Skills:
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to identify hazards and enforce safety rules
  • Report writing and record-keeping
