JOB SUMMARY
The Deputy Manager / Senior Executive, SME Financing is responsible for supporting the development, assessment, approval, and monitoring of SME financing facilities. The role focuses on evaluating financing applications, managing client relationships, ensuring compliance with financing policies, and supporting portfolio performance to achieve sustainable SME growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financing Assessment & Processing
- Evaluate SME financing applications, including business viability, cash flow, credit risk, and financial performance.
- Conduct financial analysis, credit assessment, and risk evaluation in accordance with approved financing policies and guidelines.
- Prepare financing proposals, credit papers, and recommendations for approval committees.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation for financing disbursement.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with SME customers throughout the financing lifecycle, from application to monitoring and settlement.
- Provide advisory support to SMEs on financing structures, requirements, and compliance matters.
- Conduct site visits, business reviews, and follow-up engagements with clients.
3. Portfolio Management & Monitoring
- Monitor financing accounts to ensure timely repayments and early identification of potential credit issues.
- Perform periodic reviews of existing accounts, including financial performance and covenant compliance.
- Assist in managing delinquent or non-performing accounts in collaboration with recovery or restructuring teams.
4. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all financing activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
- Maintain proper records, documentation, and audit trails for all financing transactions.
- Support internal and external audits and provide required information promptly.
5. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare regular reports on financing pipeline, approvals, disbursements, and portfolio performance.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (credit, legal, operations, risk, and finance) to facilitate efficient financing processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financing processes and turnaround time.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g. CFA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
2. Experience
- Senior Executive: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in SME financing, credit assessment, banking, or financial institutions.
- Deputy Manager: Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience with proven exposure to credit evaluation and portfolio management.
3. Skills & Competencies
- Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
- Good understanding of SME business models and financing structures.
- Ability to prepare clear and well-structured credit papers and reports.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and sound judgement.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments under tight timelines.
