Sous Chef

Location: 5-Star Hotel, Kuantan
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily kitchen operations of the assigned outlet (e.g., all-day dining, specialty restaurant or poolside bar).
- Lead, train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food quality, portioning and timely dish preparation.
- Uphold exceptional standards of food presentation, taste and hygiene in alignment with 5-star service expectations.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning, costing, and seasonal menu updates.
- Ensure strict compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas.
- Monitor inventory levels, minimize wastage, and assist in requisitioning and ordering of food supplies.
- Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment within the kitchen team.
- Work closely with service staff to ensure seamless coordination and outstanding guest dining experiences.
- Address and resolve guest feedback related to food quality or service promptly and professionally.
- Support the Executive Sous Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, administrative duties and staff performance reviews.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of culinary experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or Sous Chef role, preferably within a luxury or 5-star hotel environment.
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international cuisines, culinary techniques, and food safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Familiarity with kitchen management systems, inventory control, and cost management is an added advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2, RM3,800.00 per month
