Job Title: Mid-level Unix AdministratorJob Summary:We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Linux/Unix Server & Storage Specialist to join our IT operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise server and storage infrastructure while ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Identify, diagnose, and resolve escalated incidents on Linux/Unix server platforms.Escalate complex cases to L3 Infrastructure or Application teams when required.Perform regular server operations, including setup, upgrades, patch deployment, monitoring, health checks, backups, and restores.Troubleshoot system issues and optimize performance.Prepare and maintain technical documentation for server and storage operations.Provide support for server and storage-related issues and liaise with external vendors as needed.Operate and maintain SAN infrastructure and storage systems (IBM DS8870, EMC, HP 3PAR, IBM V7K, HDS G3xx).Configure and manage FC switches, SAN zoning, and SAN synchronization operations.Required Skills & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.>2 years of relevant experience with Linux Servers, VMware, x86 servers, and storage.Experience in sizable enterprises and ITIL-compliant environments is preferred.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance tuning skills.Good written and verbal communication in English; Cantonese is a plus.Willingness to work night shifts and public holidays.Knowledge of AIX/HP-UX/Solaris is an advantage.SAN & Storage Expertise:IBM DS8870: PPRC operations, SAN provisioning, SAN sync scriptingEMC Storage: Remote copy, SAN provisioningHP 3PAR: Remote copy, SAN provisioningIBM V7K: Meter Mirror, FlashCopy, SAN provisioningHDS G3xx: Remote copy, SAN provisioningFC Switch: Hardware/software operation, SAN zoningFC Routing: SAN synchronizationOperating Systems & Virtualization:OS: AIX 4.11–7.2, Red Hat 4–9, CentOS 6–7, HP-UX 10/11, Solaris 9–11, Alpha Digital UNIX, Oracle Linux 7–9Enterprise Virtualization: IBM PowerVM, HP VPAR, HP VM Container, Solaris LDOM, Oracle OLVM, VMware ESXi, Red Hat KVMHigh Availability Software: IBM PowerHA/HACMP, IBM GPFS, Oracle RAC/ASM, Red Hat HA Pacemaker, HP ClusterwareMonitoring Tools:SolarWindsCertifications (Preferred):IBM Certified System ExpertHP Certified IT ProfessionalSun Certified System AdministratorRed Hat Certified EngineerJob Type: Full-timePay: RM5, RM6,500.00 per monthExperience:Linux/Unix Server & Storage Specialist: 1 year (Required)Linux Servers, VMware, x86 servers, and storage: 2 years (Preferred)ITIL-compliant environments: 2 years (Preferred)AIX/HP-UX/Solaris: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: In person
