Durioo+ is a dynamic tech start-up company located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. It was founded by the creative thing behind the creative mind behind the phenomenally successful preschool cartoons Omar & Hana and Didi & Friends. Both cartoons have amassed more than 18 million subscribers and an incredible 8 billion views on YouTube. As a proud member of Y-Combinator (W22), Durioo+ serves as a safe streaming platform for animations and videos designed specifically for children.

Durioo+ operates on a subscription-based model. We produce, co-produce, and license entertaining, ethical, and meaningful content tailored for children. Launched in February 2022, we already boast more than 36,000 paid subscribers and host over 16,000 pieces of content on our platform and numbers are growing every month. All our content is meticulously curated to align with Islamic teachings and values.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Account Executive to join our finance team. The Senior Account Executive will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and preparing accurate and timely financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in using Google Sheets, a keen eye for detail, discipline, thorough knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software like Xero, experience working in a fast-paced startup environment, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle full sets of accounts: Perform and assist in preparation of monthly full set accounts, financial and management reports.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices and payments, and monitor accounts receivable and collections.
• Perform Day-to-Day Accounting Transactions: Record and reconcile transactions, maintain accurate financial data, and resolve any backlog tasks.
• Initiate Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls. Identify opportunities for cost savings, tax optimization, and streamlining accounting processes and procedures.
• Banking and Compliance: Manage banking transactions, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and handle company secretarial duties related to statutory filings.
• Audit and Taxation: Coordinate audit activities, prepare audit schedules, and liaise with auditors. Assist in tax planning, compliance, and filing.
• Prepare Financial Reports: Generate financial statements, cash flow forecasts, budgets, and management reports to provide insights into company performance.
• Ad-Hoc Duties: Support management by undertaking additional reasonable tasks and projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the finance team.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile start-up environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero or similar).
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and MS Excel.
