Position : Technician Installation & Maintenance – Fire Protection System

Location : Subang Bestari, Shah Alam

Employment Type : Full-time

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Protection System Technician Installation and Maintenance with 1-3 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire protection and suppression systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Installation Works

  • Install piping, brackets, fittings, and fire protection components according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out electrical wiring and connection for fire alarm systems, detectors, and control panels.
  • Ensure correct pipe alignment, jointing, and system assembly.
  • Assist in installation of fire pumps, control valves, hose reels, and other fire-fighting equipment.
  • Conduct pressure and flow tests as part of the installation verification process.

B. Testing & Commissioning

  • Perform system testing and flushing to ensure compliance with design and safety requirements.
  • Support engineers during system calibration and commissioning.
  • Prepare and maintain testing records for submission to consultants and BOMBA inspections.

C. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and functional tests of fire protection systems as per maintenance schedule.
  • Clean, lubricate, and calibrate components to maintain proper operation.
  • Replace damaged or faulty devices such as detectors, nozzles, valves, or extinguishers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair system faults.

· Respond to emergency service calls and provide on-site support as needed.

  • Prepare service reports, maintenance checklists, and recommendations for system improvements.

D. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all works comply with industry standards, local fire codes, and safety regulations.
  • Follow company Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies.
  • Properly handle tools, ladders, and lifting equipment to prevent accidents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at work areas.

E. Reporting & Coordination

  • Submit daily or weekly progress and maintenance reports to the Site Supervisor or Engineer.
  • Coordinate with other trades (mechanical, electrical, civil) to prevent site conflicts.
  • Report any non-conformance, material shortage, or design discrepancy promptly.

Requirements & Qualifications:

· Diploma or certification in Fire Protection, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field.

· years of experience in fire protection system installation, maintenance, or servicing.

· Knowledge of installation and maintenance procedures for fire protection systems.

· Familiarity with industry standards, local fire codes, and safety regulations.

· Able to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and as-built layouts.

· Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic principles.

· Skilled in the use of mechanical tools, pipe threading, and electrical testing instruments.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Team-oriented, responsible, and safety-conscious.

· Physically fit and able to work at heights or in confined spaces.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc).
