Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Research & Development Department, responsible for managing and coordinating new product development projects from concept through to mass production.

The successful candidate will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that all milestones are achieved on time and meet quality expectations. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams — electronics, mechanical, testing, and production — as well as direct communication with customers and overseas partners.

As Betamek expands its collaboration with international and Chinese OEMs, Mandarin language proficiency is a must to facilitate effective communication and project coordination.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and monitor new product development projects within defined scope, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Define project deliverables, manage schedules, and ensure alignment among stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with electronics, mechanical, and testing engineers to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers, and technical teams.
  • Prepare and submit durability test reports, project documentation, and customer updates.
  • Support trial runs, validation testing, and sample deliveries to customers.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage engineering change requests (ECRs) and ensure accurate documentation and implementation.
  • Track project KPIs and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Project Management) or related field.
  • Proficient in Mandarin (spoken and written) — essential for communication with customers and suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office tools.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes and project lifecycle management.
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal communication skills across teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in project or product development within the automotive or electronics industry (fresh graduates with strong project or internship exposure are welcome to apply).
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong logical and creative thinking.
  • Experience in preparing project reports and customer communication.

Soft Skills

  • Team-oriented and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin).
  • Organized, disciplined, and adaptable to dynamic project demands.
