The Role - BIM Coordinator, based in Malaysia

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
BIM Coordinator
to manage and coordinate BIM processes across our construction and design projects. You will be responsible for overseeing digital model development, ensuring data accuracy, and facilitating collaboration among project stakeholders. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, innovation, and quality in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Project Coordination

·       Develop, manage, and maintain BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.

·       Implement and enforce BIM standards, execution plans, and workflows.

·       Conduct clash detection and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts.

·       Coordinate BIM integration with other technologies (e.g., scheduling, data export/import).

·       Perform quality control checks on models and associated data.

Collaboration & Communication

·       Facilitate BIM coordination meetings with architects, engineers, and contractors.

·       Act as a liaison between internal teams and external consultants.

·       Communicate BIM-related updates and changes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Training & Support

·       Provide technical support on BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).

·       Promote BIM best practices and continuous learning within the team.

Documentation & Reporting

·       Maintain accurate documentation of BIM processes, decisions, and updates.

·       Generate reports to track model progress, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications

·       Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

·       Autodesk Certified Professional or equivalent BIM certification preferred.

Experience

·       Minimum 2–5 years of experience in BIM coordination or related roles.

·       Proven track record in managing BIM workflows and digital construction models.

Skills

·       Proficiency in BIM software: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC, Dynamo (optional).

·       Strong understanding of construction processes and architectural principles.

·       Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

·       Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

·       Adaptability to evolving technologies and project requirements.

·       Leadership in driving innovation and collaboration across teams.

Work Environment:

·       Hybrid based in Malaysia - work remotely with occasional office-based days.

·       Reports to the Senior Delivery Manager or the Project Manager.
