Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice to the company on various matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), intellectual property, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, employment law and dispute resolution.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate and commercial agreements; conduct legal research and analysis to assess potential risks and implications of business decisions, contracts, and agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and provide guidance on issues related to intellectual property, consumer protection, advertising, marketing, and product labelling.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to address legal issues and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal records and documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB, JD, or equivalent). Admitted to the Malaysian Bar or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal in relation to corporate commercial drafting and advisory for a multinational organization.
  • Strong proficiency in Mandarin and English, essential for communication with Mandarin speaking stakeholders.
  • Ability to draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements with precision and attention to detail. Hands-on and flexible attitude, sound commercial judgement.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property, consumer protection, advertising, and marketing laws and regulations. Prior experience in FMCG industry is an added advantage.
