Overall Purpose of the Role

The
Regional HR Advisor
serves as a key strategic and operational partner to business leaders across Malaysia and SEA countries.

This role provides comprehensive HR advisory support — from employee relations to organizational development — while ensuring compliance with regional labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Partnership

  • Act as a
    trusted HR advisor
    to business leaders across Malaysia and SEA to drive people strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with leadership teams to implement regional HR initiatives that support organizational scalability and culture transformation.
  • Influence senior leaders with data-driven insights to guide workforce planning, performance management, and people development.

2. Regional HR Operations & Advisory

  • Oversee
    day-to-day HR operations
    across multiple SEA countries, ensuring smooth delivery of HR services (recruitment, onboarding, performance, exit management).
  • Provide expert advice on
    employment laws, HR compliance, and local labor practices
    in Malaysia and SEA (e.g., Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia).
  • Coordinate with local HR representatives or partners to ensure legal and policy alignment across regions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely HR documentation, contracts, and employee record management.

3. Employee & Industrial Relations (ER/IR)

  • Handle
    employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary issues
    with professionalism and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local labor authorities and, where applicable, unions.
  • Advise management on
    labor law implications, risk mitigation
    , and dispute resolution.
  • Monitor regional HR compliance and proactively identify potential employment risks.

4. Talent, Learning & Performance

  • Support business leaders in
    talent management, performance calibration, and succession planning
    .
  • Coordinate regional
    training and capability development
    initiatives to strengthen leadership pipelines.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and career growth aligned with FMCG market competitiveness.

5. Culture, Engagement & Change Management

  • Drive
    employee engagement programs
    and regional culture initiatives to build a unified people experience.
  • Act as a
    change enabler
    , ensuring effective communication and adoption of new policies, systems, and structures.
  • Foster an inclusive and performance-driven culture that reflects Ouji Seiyaku's values and business vision.

6. Leadership Influence & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with regional and country leaders to
    align HR strategies with business goals

  • Demonstrate
    leadership presence and influence
    , guiding leaders to make balanced, people-centered decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales) to drive organizational synergy.

Key Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum
    8 years of HR experience
    , including at least 3 years in
    regional HR advisory or HRBP roles
    .
  • Proven experience in
    FMCG, manufacturing, or high-growth industries
    .
  • Strong understanding of
    Malaysia Employment Act
    and
    labor laws in SEA countries
    (Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia).
  • Hands-on experience in
    employee relations, HR compliance, and change management
    .
