Regional Product Support Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering support to company's part localization activity including providing drawings, clarification on design, part function, part qualification, etc.
  • Create BOM or part list for projects on new product developed or existing products.
  • Perform design calculations on designs whenever required to ensure part reliability and quality are realized.
  • Design and develop samples for in-house testing of new products.
  • Undertake costing study of new products with the assistance of Procurement Engineers.
  • To establish communication links and work closely with HQ Technical department on testing of new products, design related issues, and special requests from customers.
  • Provide technical support to the company's BU Egg, BU Poultry, BU Pig, After Sales and Quality Control departments in terms of technical and design clarification, customized requests and alterations.
  • Provide Climate Sales support to Sales division. Seek opportunities in providing additions and expansion of the BD product portfolio to turn-key projects (such as, Exhaust air systems, fan ventilation, heater, ducting design, chiller and etc.)
  • To create awareness and expose climate/ventilation knowledge to the Asia business unit
  • Establishment of sales tools and analysis to market BD Climate systems

Requirements

  • Preferably candidates with bachelor's degree in mechanical or M&E engineering or equivalent.
  • Candidates must have at least 5 years working experience in related field.
  • Knowledge in fan, air inlet, ventilation design, ducting design, heating, chiller and etc.
  • Able to use CAD software (SolidWorks) for product design and drawing preparation.
  • Hands-on assembly of engineering components/machinery and usage of tools is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of part costing estimation is an added advantage.
  • On site troubleshooting is required.
  • Team player, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure and tight deadline.
