CAD Drafter - Subsea Projects

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (with offshore design coordination)

Employment Type: Full-time, Contract 1.5 years

Position Summary

A leading offshore engineering and design organisation is seeking experienced CAD Drafters with strong subsea project experience to support detailed design and drafting activities for major offshore energy developments. This position will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and supporting design teams in delivering high-quality documentation within project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and revise detailed engineering drawings for subsea pipelines, cables, and related structures using MicroStation software
  • Support the preparation of alignment sheets, crossing drawings, and other technical documentation in line with project requirements
  • Coordinate with project engineers and offshore construction teams to incorporate design comments and revisions at various review stages
  • Liaise with project coordinators and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery of drafting outputs
  • Ensure all drawings meet project and international engineering standards and adhere to approved design specifications
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to optimise drafting efficiency and quality
  • Maintain clear document control and version management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support the project close-out process by preparing final documentation packages

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering Design, Drafting, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in CAD drafting for subsea or offshore projects (pipelines, cables, or similar)
  • Proficiency in MicroStation (essential) and familiarity with international drafting standards
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, symbols, and offshore design documentation requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple packages and deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience working with Middle East or major offshore energy projects is an advantage
