Quantity Surveyor

Main Purpose of the Job: -

Function as the project assistant quantity surveyor and be able to work with Directors, Associate Directors and other Quantity Surveyors in delivering professional pre and post QS services.

Job Description (Key Responsibilities):

• Provide support to the Associate Director and or Director in cost management of projects, including but not limited to the following main tasks:

o   Measurement (taking off quantities) for all structural and architectural elements

o   Pre-contract cost estimation, cost planning, pretender estimation

o   Tender documentation and contract documentation

o   Post Contract variation cost evaluation

o   Post Contract variation assessment

o   Finalization of project final accounts

• Work collaboratively with other Quantity Surveyors to manage related issues on the multi-disciplinary projects
• Liaise with other Quantity Surveyors, Associate Director, Director to ensure consistency of service delivery and to identify opportunities for developing the quality of the service
• Contribute to setting team objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
• Effective communication ensuring all information is available for the successful completion of projects, to liaise with other Quantity Surveyors, Associate Director, Director to ensure efficient financial control resulting in projects being cost effective
• Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner, meeting and corresponding with project personnel such as Clients, Consultants, Main Contractor, Sub-contractor, Suppliers to form a strong working relationship in true partnership as and when required
• Add to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned

Job Requirements & Person Specification (Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Behaviours)

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Experienced Quantity Surveyor with 1 to 3 years' experience (Consultancy experience is preferred)
• Ability to take off quantities and evaluate variations
• Experience in Pre and/or Post contract management including but not limited to Cost Estimating, Cost Planning, Tender Preparation, Tender Evaluation and Award, Contract Documentation, Payment Valuation, Evaluating Variations, Valuation of Variation and Final Accounts Closure

· Proficiency in measurement software, including CostX, Cubicost, or equivalent platforms

• Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
• Able to work collaboratively with others and contribute to group objectives
• Willingness to embrace change and adjust to new way of working
