Education:

  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related service, repair, installation and commissioning of medical equipment.
  • Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitudes may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, calibrate, and test biomedical equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance on medical devices (e.g., infusion pumps, defibrillators, ECG machines, patient monitors).
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for service reports, calibration records, and maintenance schedules.
  • Provide technical support and training to medical staff on proper equipment usage and care.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory standards (e.g., MDA, MOH) and hospital policies.
  • Experience in dialysis equipment is advantage

Job Description:

  • Work involves testing, installing or repairing medical devices and products at the company and healthcare facilities.
  • Ensure the services equipment and gadgets are in good condition for calibration, maintenance and service on medical devices either in the office or at customers' place.
  • Arrange and perform Testing and Commissioning.
  • Monitor and perform Planned Preventive Maintenance on a wide range of medical devices for under warranty instruments.
  • Assist sales team in technical matters.
  • Attend instrument breakdown/troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment on site with minimal downtime.
  • Pack and deliver newly purchased instruments to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of service reports, calibration logs, and spare parts usage.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for spare parts and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian medical device regulations (e.g., MDA).
  • Train clinical staff on proper use and basic maintenance of equipment.

Skills:

  • Good understanding of medical device functionality and safety requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Able to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site at various client locations.
  • Perform QC inspection on equipment supplied by vendors for physical damages, functionalities prior to delivery to customers.
  • Perform installations, commissions on the equipment at customer's site.
  • Familiar with local regulatory standards GDPMD and hospital policies (e.g., MDA, MOH)

Additional Information:

  • Possession of a valid driving license may be required.
  • Familiarity with MDA (Medical Device Authority) guidelines is an advantage.
  • Certifications from equipment manufacturers (e.g., GE, Philips, Siemens) are a plus.
