Position Title: Assistant Finance Manager

Our client is a leading business software provider to the Accounts Receivable Management and Recovery industry in Malaysia. As an Assistance Finance Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust internal controls, developing accurate financial forecasts, preparing comprehensive financial reports, and overseeing budgetary controls to ultimately safeguard and enhance the company's financial health.

Key Accountabilities

  • Direct and overall responsibility for internal controls, financial forecast & reporting, and budgetary controls
  • Responsible for the company's accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, the preparation and interpretation of financial reports for management and external groups
  • Maintain the financial health of the company

Key Responsibilities

Costing

  • Prepare monthly analysis of cost of goods sold and operational expenses against prior year and budget, providing explanations and business solutions to help mitigate the risks
  • Identify, investigate and analyze potential operational improvement. As appropriate, based on findings make proposal for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, etc.)

Reporting

  • Develop, streamline and enhance financial management and reporting processes
  • Manage the processing of all contract and other income and disbursements
  • Timely and accurate preparation of consolidated monthly and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with acceptable accounting principles
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and long-term financial plans
  • Ensure financial and business related legislative compliances are met
  • Analyze financial results, including corrective actions to address adverse performance
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other financial institutions

Management

  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives to be met
  • Provide timely and robust financial analysis to support CEO's business decision-making
  • Track and monitor project financial performance, highlighting variances and improvement areas
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to drive continuous improvement and excellence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support operational and strategic initiatives

Admin

  • Develop accounting policies to comply with accepted accounting principles, tax requirements, and management reporting requirements
  • Establish formal internal control policies and procedures.
  • Oversee management of leases, contracts, and other financial commitments
  • Support finance system improvements, automation, or digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and ensure full company compliance
  • Perform other related duties as required

Key Requirements

  • University degree or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management/Administration
  • 5 years' experience in similar role
  • Possess a professional designation/certification (Chartered Accountant, Certified General Accountant, etc)
  • Have a flair for numbers, work well with people, aggressively anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and have a positive work attitude
  • Strong experience in income statement analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to RM8,500.00 per month
