Role Overview:

The
Assistant Finance Manager
will support the Group Finance Manager in overseeing the full spectrum of group accounting and reporting functions. This role is important in ensuring accurate consolidation of group financial statements, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting to management and regulatory bodies. It also involves leading month-end closing activities, audits, and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the group's monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and consolidation processes, ensuring compliance with MFRS and relevant financial regulations.
  • Prepare and review group financial statements, management reports, and performance analyses, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate statutory audits and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth audit and compliance processes.
  • Support group budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to provide insights into business performance and assist management in strategic planning.
  • Review intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations to ensure proper consolidation treatment and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring cash flow, treasury activities, and working capital management for group-level financial efficiency.
  • Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, internal controls, and standard operating procedures to strengthen financial governance.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the finance team across subsidiaries to ensure adherence to group accounting policies and reporting timelines.
  • Participate in special projects such as system upgrades, process improvements, and due diligence exercises for corporate initiatives.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, taxation, and financial reporting requirements to ensure continuous compliance and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in group consolidation and reporting within a listed or large corporate group environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge in MFRS, consolidation principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience working with audit firms or Big 4 background would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in ERP or financial reporting systems, and advanced in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently under tight deadlines and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
