Role Purpose

Investment Operations is responsible for delivering daily operational support for trade and portfolio activities, ensuring accurate and timely execution of the investment trade lifecycle. This role involves close collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external service providers to maintain the integrity of investment data and ensure smooth trade processing, settlement, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities


• Manage end-to-end trade lifecycle activities, including trade instruction, matching, settlement, corporate actions, cash and position management, and collateral management.


• Perform daily investment portfolio reconciliations between custodians, fund managers, and market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg).


• Identify and escalate reconciliation breaks in a timely manner.


• Support pre- and post-trade settlement processes, ensuring accurate and prompt execution for all transactions.


• Provide operational trade support to investment teams across various business units and regions when required.


• Execute funding activities including cash and currency operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion.


• Conduct detailed analysis to resolve issues and provide recommendations to management for process improvements.


• Liaise with internal teams (Investment Ops, Group Investment, Accounting)


• Coordinate with external parties: asset managers, custodians, brokers, counterparties.

Key Performance Indicators


• Reduction in trade failure incidents.


• Timely completion of portfolio reconciliations in accordance with defined SLAs.


• No unidentified breaks in client reconciliations.


• Proactive identification and escalation of data or process anomalies.

Qualifications & Experience


• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.


• 2–4 years of experience in middle office operations, trade processing, or collateral management.

Knowledge & Technical Skills, Competencies


• Solid understanding of financial instruments including equities, fixed income, and collateral.


• Exposure to private equity and alternative credit products is advantageous.


• Familiarity with the complete trade lifecycle is a plus.


• Experience with Bloomberg AIM or other trade order management systems is preferred.


• Proficiency in investment accounting systems such as Clearwater, PAM, FAM, or Portia is considered an asset.
