What you'll do:
As Finance Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of financial management for the manufacturing business. Your day-to-day activities will involve preparing detailed financial reports that offer valuable insights into company performance while developing robust budgets that guide future growth. You will collaborate closely with senior management by presenting clear analyses and recommendations that shape strategic decisions. In addition to managing core finance functions such as costing and cash flow planning, you will champion continuous improvement initiatives designed to optimise production costs. - Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide accurate insights into the company's financial health.
- Develop and monitor comprehensive budgets and forecasts while tracking financial performance against targets to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Present detailed financial analysis, variance explanations, and actionable recommendations to senior management to inform key business decisions.
- Ensure timely submission of group reporting as well as statutory reporting requirements by maintaining up-to-date records and adhering to deadlines.
- Oversee product costing processes including standard costing updates, variance analysis, margin monitoring, and cost optimisation initiatives within manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production costs, inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP), bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, and cost of goods sold (COGS) to maintain precise financial data.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at optimising production costs and enhancing overall operational efficiency within the finance function.
- Manage cash flow planning by overseeing working capital requirements and liquidity to ensure smooth business operations at all times.
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory turnover rates while liaising with banks or financial institutions when necessary to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Establish strong internal controls within finance and manufacturing functions to ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS), and company policies.

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required for this position to ensure foundational knowledge in core principles.
- Professional qualification such as
ACCA, CPA, CIMA
or equivalent is preferred as it demonstrates advanced expertise in accounting standards. - Proficiency to speak, read and write in Mandarin is a must
- Minimum
5-8 years
of relevant finance experience with at least 3 years spent in a manufacturing environment is essential for understanding industry-specific challenges. - Strong knowledge of costing methodologies
including standard costing updates, variance analysis, budgeting processes, financial reporting practices, and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is vital for success. - Excellent analytical skills combined with problem-solving abilities are needed to interpret complex data sets and provide meaningful recommendations.
- Proven leadership skills are required to mentor team members effectively while fostering a supportive atmosphere under pressure or tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills are necessary for building relationships with stakeholders across various departments including operations and procurement.
- Experience in automation or process improvement within manufacturing finance is highly desirable as it supports ongoing efficiency gains.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles such as Kaizen or other continuous improvement initiatives would be advantageous for driving operational excellence.
- Advanced Excel proficiency along with strong financial modelling capabilities are important tools for delivering high-quality analysis.
