Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with workplace health & safety regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of production areas, machinery, and equipment.

  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.

  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices in line with legal requirements.
  • Conduct safety orientation and periodic training sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate and document accidents, near-misses, and incidents, and follow through with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across the plant.
  • Maintain records of safety activities including inspections, incidents, training, permits, and certifications.
  • Support environmental compliance as it relates to health and safety (e.g., waste disposal, chemical handling, emissions).
  • Liaise with government inspectors and regulatory bodies during audits or site visits.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing safety risks (e.g., machinery safety, confined spaces, hazardous materials, ergonomics).
  • Familiar with national OHS legislation, industry regulations and ISO 45001.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems (SMS) or digital reporting tools.
  • Registered Safety Officer (green book) certification from DOSH would be an added advantage.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
