About This Role
Leadership role in an emerging market:
- With a locally owned marketing and distribution entity in the healthcare industry.
- With full authority and accountability for overseeing and managing all aspects of the sales and marketing functions within an organization.
- That will be reporting to the Company General Manager
- That will oversee both GP and IP channel
- That will be supported by 2 managers and 20+ sales reps across Penang/Johor/Ipoh and Central - Klang Valley
- Strategic Planning: Develop a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy for the pharmaceutical consumer category, considering market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape. Set objectives and strategies to promote and sell OTC medications, vitamins, supplements, and other consumer healthcare products.
- Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of over 20 salesforce nationwide. Provide guidance, set performance targets, conduct regular evaluations, and ensure that the team is equipped to achieve sales and marketing goals. Take appropriate action to rectify when necessary.
- Sales Operations: Outline and execute a consistent sales approach, evaluating the country performance, identify plans for local execution to align with regional commercial approach and ensure proficiency and output. The objective is to drive revenue growth of the present as well as the future portfolio of the current business
- Marketing Campaigns and Promotions: Designing and implementing targeted marketing campaigns and promotional activities to create compelling messaging over appropriate channels to raise awareness, drive demand, and increase sales.
- Relationship Management: Build and sustain rapport with key opinion leaders. Maintain excellent working relationships with all other customers, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure the Sales and Marketing Team observe the industry standards in compliance of regulatory bodies.
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Responsible for managing sales pipelines, tracking sales performance, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing sales forecasting and reporting systems. This involves analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and making strategic adjustments to optimize sales performance.
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Has proven experience in sales management within the pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare industry.
- Has a strong understanding of consumer healthcare products and market dynamics.
- Expected to also possess adequate know-how on ethical products/Poison items and Therapeutic portfolio (aside from the above Pharmaceutical Consumer Category products - mainly OTC, vitamins, supplement, skincare)
- Needs to be familiar with the Pharma Distribution business model. Agility is essential in this dynamic and fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
- Must demonstrate success in achieving sales targets and managing sales teams.
- Have sufficient knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Has an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
