Head of Finance

We are looking to identify a capable
Head of Finance / Finance Operations Lead
on a
contract basis
for a multinational financial services firm.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a world-class financial services organisation, ensuring stability, accuracy, and strong governance across its finance operations in Malaysia.

You will oversee the full spectrum of finance activities, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, treasury, and taxation, while supporting the client's strategic and operational goals during a key transformation period.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all
  finance and accounting operations
  , ensuring timely and accurate processing of general ledger, AP/AR, and month-end close activities.
• Deliver accurate and compliant
  financial and management reports
  aligned with global standards and local regulations.
• Lead the
  budgeting and forecasting
  cycle, providing insights to support decision-making and performance management.
• Manage
  treasury operations
  , including cash flow forecasting, fund management, and banking relationships.
• Ensure full compliance with
  tax, audit, and statutory reporting
  requirements.
• Provide
  financial analysis and business insight
  to regional and global stakeholders.
• Drive
  process improvement initiatives
  to enhance control, efficiency, and automation.
• Lead and mentor the local finance team to maintain operational continuity and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with regional finance leadership and shared services teams to ensure seamless reporting and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA) strongly preferred.
• Minimum
  10 years of relevant finance experience
  , including
  leadership of core finance operations
  within a multinational or regulated industry.
• Proven ability to manage
  financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, and taxation
  functions in complex organisations.
• Prior exposure to
  insurance, financial services, or shared services environments
  will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with
  ERP systems
  (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Workday) and strong proficiency in
  Excel / Power BI
  .
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging regional and global leaders.
• Available on
  short notice
  to deliver operational and leadership continuity in a contract capacity.
