About the role

Changhuat Plastic Industries (Senai) Sdn Bhd, a leading precision injection moulding and plastic manufacturing company, is seeking a Project Development Executive / Assistant Manager to join our team. This role involves managing project development from tooling to finished product, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery for both local and international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Development Planning

  2. Coordinate with customers, design, and engineering teams.

  3. Develop product specifications, timelines, and cost targets.

  4. Prototype & Testing

  5. Coordinate prototyping and iterations.

  6. Manage performance, functional, and reliability testing.

  7. Work with QA/QC to ensure compliance and certification for new products/projects.

  8. Manufacturing Readiness

  9. Coordinate tooling fabrication, equipment, and production readiness.

  10. Source materials and components locally and overseas.

  11. Manage pilot runs and process validation.

  12. Supplier & Vendor Coordination

  13. Evaluate and manage vendors for parts, packaging, or sub-assemblies.

  14. Negotiate lead times, costs, and quality requirements.

  15. Costing & BOM Management

  16. Finalize Bill of Materials (BOM).

  17. Collaborate with procurement and finance on cost control.

  18. Cross-Department Alignment

  19. Work with marketing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure launch readiness.

  20. Prepare product documentation, manuals, and packaging.

  21. Project Timeline & Risk Management

  22. Track project milestones, resolve delays, and manage risks effectively.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in a related field (Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Hands-on expertise in project management and product development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work independently.
