Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement fire safety systems including detection, suppression, and evacuation protocols.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments for buildings, industrial sites, and infrastructure projects.
  • Review architectural and engineering plans to ensure fire code compliance.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and regulatory bodies to integrate fire safety into project designs.
  • Perform fire simulations and modeling to predict fire behavior and optimize safety measures.
  • Recommend fire suppression and detection technologies suitable for various environment.
  • Prepare fire safety reports and documentation for regulatory submissions and internal audits.
  • Lead fire drills and emergency response training for staff and occupants.
  • Stay updated on fire safety codes, standards, and technologies (e.g., NFPA, UBBL, ISO).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CFPS, IFE membership) is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fire safety engineering or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of fire dynamics, building codes, and safety engineering principles.

  • Familiarity with local fire safety regulations (e.g., Malaysia's UBBL, BOMBA requirements).
