Business Development Manager / Director (eKYC & AI Enterprise Solutions)
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager / Director is responsible for driving new business growth for the company's eKYC and AI enterprise solutions. This is a pure hunting role requiring a strong track record in identifying, engaging, and closing new clients across key industries such as financial services, telecommunications, and the public sector.
The ideal candidate is strategic, results-driven, and capable of building high-impact relationships to accelerate market expansion and strengthen the organization's presence in the digital identity and AI ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Business Acquisition
- Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities for eKYC and AI enterprise solutions.
- Engage C-suite and senior decision-makers to drive enterprise-level deals.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and conversion opportunities.
2. Market Expansion
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies targeting new industries and geographical markets.
- Focus on large enterprise customers and strategic accounts.
- Analyze market trends and assess competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
3. Consultative & Solution-Based Selling
- Understand client pain points and business challenges to propose tailored digital identity and AI-driven solutions.
- Conduct product presentations, demos, and solution workshops with clients.
4. Partnership & Channel Development
- Build strategic alliances with system integrators, channel partners, and technology vendors.
- Drive joint go-to-market activities to increase adoption of the company's solutions.
5. Tender & Proposal Management
- Lead end-to-end tender preparation, proposal drafting, and submission.
- Ensure proposals are competitive, compliant, and aligned with client requirements.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, presales, technical, and solution delivery teams.
- Align sales strategies with product capabilities and implementation timelines.
7. Client Success & Retention
- Ensure seamless post-sales engagement and handover to delivery teams.
- Support client onboarding, satisfaction, renewals, and potential upselling opportunities.
8. Sales Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide regular pipeline updates to management.
- Track KPIs, revenue performance, and business development activities.
Job Requirements
Experience
- Minimum
5 years
of experience in business development or solution sales, preferably in: - AI / Machine Learning
- eKYC / Digital Identity
- Cloud solutions
- IT enterprise platforms
- Demonstrated hunting experience with a consistent record of achieving sales targets.
- Experience selling to enterprise clients—FSI, fintech, telecommunications, or government sectors.
Industry & Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of digital identity, eKYC processes, AI-driven enterprise solutions, and cloud technologies.
- Ability to engage in consultative and solution-based selling.
- Prior experience dealing with tenders, RFPs, and enterprise procurement cycles.
Sales Skills
- Proven ability to generate leads, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
- Strong relationship-building capability across C-level and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English and Bahasa Melayu.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
