HIRING: Technical Support Engineer L1/L2

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Type: 12+ Months Contract

Mode: Hybrid/Onsite

Budget: RM7,000 – RM8,000 per month

Role Summary

We are looking for experienced Technical Support Engineers (L1/L2) to support enterprise customers in backup, recovery, and data management environments. This role involves troubleshooting, remote problem-solving, and managing complex technical issues related to backup infrastructures and disaster recovery solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues for backup and recovery products, both remotely and on-site.
  • Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, networking, and application-related problems using remote support tools.
  • Monitor and manage backup operations, disaster recovery plans, and storage utilization.
  • Document technical procedures, case notes, and solutions accurately.
  • Perform root cause analysis and escalate software bugs or product improvement requests.
  • Participate in labs, simulations, and product beta testing.
  • Deliver high-quality support via phone, email, and online channels.
  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Stay updated on product changes, new technologies, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in technical or customer support, preferably in enterprise backup and recovery environments.
  • Hands-on experience with backup/recovery software; familiarity with tools like Veritas, Veeam, NetBackup, or Avamar is an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience implementing, configuring, and monitoring enterprise backup solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English + Japanese
