We are seeking a highly driven and self-motivated
Business Development Manager
, preferably based in Malaysia, to help
SG Support
expand its presence within and beyond Asia. Initial market focus for this role will be
Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia & New Zealand and the United States
.

This role will report directly to the Executive Management Team.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive revenue by acquiring new clients and build strategic partnerships.
  • Proactively identify and qualify new sales opportunities through targeted market research and competitive analysis.
  • Promote and sell the company's service offerings, whether individual solutions or the full suite, based on identified client needs and market insights.
  • Support and drive our geographical expansion into new markets.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

Drive New Business Growth

  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through networks, partnerships, referrals, industry conferences and targeted outreach.
  • Lead the end-to-end business development process, from identifying opportunities and shaping proposals to securing client agreements and long-term partnerships.

Brand Representation & Market Presence

  • Represent SG Support with professionalism and credibility at external meetings, networking events and conferences.
  • Strengthen the organisation's visibility and reputation in key markets, building credibility with prospective clients and partners.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Deliver accurate pipeline reporting and support financial gating processes in collaboration with the Finance team, ensuring market and commercial viability.
  • Establish a centralised lead generation pipeline tool and work together with our 'lead generators' to optimise new opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Present regular progress updates to the Executive Management Team, highlighting challenges, risks and opportunities.

Market Insights

  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, managing multiple markets, service pillars, and stakeholder demands effectively.
  • Possess the ability to adapt quickly, juggle multiple priorities and manage time effectively across diverse markets, service pillars and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular market insights and recommendations to refine SG Support's GTM approach, ensuring responsiveness and agility in a fast-paced environment.

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Alignment

  • Build and maintain strong communication and relationships with key stakeholders across SG Support and across our client network.
  • Work with the marketing team to strategise how to offer potential new products and services with pricing.
  • Working collaboratively with HODs to ensure alignment of objectives and successful campaign launch.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Language Skills

  • Native Mandarin and Cantonese proficiency (essential for Hong Kong business development).
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in business development and client acquisition within marketing or services industries across multiple countries
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing a strong pipeline.
  • Background in high-growth or entrepreneurial environments preferred.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector is an added advantage.
