Sustainability Executive

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sustainability Executive to be based in our Malaysia office. This person will act as the local representative for the Sustainability Department, supporting group-wide initiatives and ensuring timely execution of sustainability reporting, audits, and compliance tasks.

The role requires independence, strong coordination skills, and the ability to engage with colleagues across different functions. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in strengthening our sustainability agenda and ensuring alignment with international ESG frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

ESG Reporting & Data Management

• Collect and validate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data from Malaysia operations and coordinate with HQ.
• Monitor data quality, identify gaps, and propose corrective actions.
• Contribute to sustainability reports aligned with GRI, EcoVadis, and other ESG frameworks.

Policy & Compliance

• Maintain and update sustainability-related policies and internal documents.
• Ensure Malaysia office is aligned with HQ sustainability policies, certifications, and audits (ISO 14001, ISO 27001, etc.).
• Prepare documentation and evidence for internal and external audits.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary sustainability contact in the Malaysia office.
• Liaise with internal teams (HR, Finance, Operations) to ensure timely ESG submissions.
• Support client and stakeholder sustainability assessments, including EcoVadis, Sedex, and customer questionnaires.

Training & Awareness

• Assist HQ in rolling out sustainability training and awareness programs for Malaysia staff.
• Promote ESG initiatives and local office sustainability engagement activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant working experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, audits, or compliance.
• Good knowledge of sustainability frameworks (GRI, EcoVadis, ISO standards, Sedex, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret ESG data and identify trends.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (experience with data visualization tools is an advantage).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Independent, resourceful, and able to work with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively with HQ and local teams.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized, with strong follow-up discipline.
