Hygiene and Safety:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's menu and quality standards.
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the presentation requirements.
Section Management:
- Oversee a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauté, pastry, etc.).
- Ensure all kitchen stations are adequately staffed and well-organized.
Quality Control:
- Monitor food quality and presentation.
- Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the required standards.
Inventory and Stock Management:
- Manage inventory for the designated section.
- Order and stock ingredients and supplies as needed.
Hygiene and Safety:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Training and Development:
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
- Provide guidance and feedback to improve their skills and efficiency.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist in menu planning and development as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a kitchen.
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Excellent understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
Education:
- A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred but not always required.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Stamina:
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks related to food preparation and cooking.
Flexibility:
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Local Knowledge:
- Familiarity with local cuisine and ingredients can be an advantage, especially in a place where local flavors and dishes are integral to the dining experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
