About the role
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a vital role in driving the growth and success of Wittur Pte Ltd, a leading global provider of engineering solutions for the elevator industry. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored customer centricity solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Actively engage with customers to understand their requirements and provide technical expertise and guidance
- Prepare detailed proposals, technical specifications, and drawings to support the sales process
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure the seamless delivery of solutions
- Participate in project management activities, including monitoring progress, addressing challenges, and ensuring timely delivery
- Provide after-sales support and follow-up to maintain strong customer relationships
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the local market
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and competitors to inform sales strategies
What we're looking for
- A university degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or business studies with technical exposure in industrial equipment or engineering-related fields
- 2 years of experience in technical sales within the industrial equipment or engineering sectors
- Proven track record of successfully driving sales and providing technical support to customers
- Meticulous documentation and record-keeping, strong self-motivation, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
- Good understanding of mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering principles and the ability to translate technical information into practical solutions for customers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and additional South-East Asian language is a plus, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Experience in the elevator industry is a strong advantage but not mandatory
- Fresh graduates with a strong profile and potential will also be given serious consideration
- Willingness to travel within Malaysia to conduct regular sales visits and calls to strengthen relationships and drive growth

Job Responsibilities
- Drive sales activities for elevator components, and support Sales Manager for other regional sales efforts.
- Proactively identify customer needs and develop new business opportunities across Malaysia. Conduct regular sales visits and calls to strengthen relationships and drive growth.
- Provide technical consultation and product recommendations based on customer requirements. Respond to inquiries and support customers with engineering and product-related information.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotation with technical proposals by analysing project specifications and by collaborating with engineers, technical teams, and different factories to ensure solutions are feasible and meet customer requirements.
- Handle order booking, technical clarifications, and delivery follow-ups. Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers throughout the order lifecycle.
- Occasional job site activities for evaluating sites for upgrading projects, handling claims or complaints.
- Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range key issues that must be addressed - providing information, recommending solutions and courses of action, implementing actions.
- Ensure products and equipment meet local lift codes and regulations by keeping up to date with current legislation and anticipating possible future changes. Provide customers with guidance on compliance, product suitability, and actions required to meet legal and safety standards.
- Willingness to travel outstation occasionally
