Senior Sales Support Engineer – Malaysia

About the role

As the Senior Sales Support Engineer - Malaysia for Wittur Pte Ltd, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive technical support and expertise to our sales team and customers in Malaysia. This full-time position will see you collaborate closely with our regional engineering and sales functions to ensure the successful delivery of our elevator components solutions.

What you'll be doing

1. Provide technical support to the sales team and customers, including product selection, application engineering, and troubleshooting
2. Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, drawings, and specifications for new projects
3. Conduct site visits, inspections, and product demonstrations to support the sales process
4. Liaise with the production and project management teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services
5. Maintain up-to-date product and application knowledge to offer the best solutions to customers
6. Collaborate with the regional engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
7. Support the training and development of the sales team on technical product information

What we're looking for

• A university degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent technical discipline with strong technical exposure in industrial equipment or engineering-related fields
• 3–5 years of proven experience in technical roles, after-sales customer support, or technical sales within the industrial equipment or engineering sectors
• Proven track record of successfully driving sales and providing technical support to customers
• Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering principles and the ability to translate technical information into practical solutions for customers
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in both spoken and written English and additional South-East Asian language is a plus, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel within and outside Malaysia as required to support customer projects
• Experience in the elevator industry is a strong advantage but not mandatory

Job Responsibilities

• Technical and sales support activities across Malaysia, and support Sales Manager for other regional sales efforts.
• Job site activities will include evaluating sites for upgrading projects, trainings, hands-on troubleshooting for products and equipment delivered and installed at customer job sites, and managing claims or complaints.
• Provide technical advice and product recommendations aligned with customer needs. Respond to inquiries and deliver engineering support, including technical information and presentations.
• Prepare cost estimates and quotation with technical proposals by analysing customer requirements and project specifications, coordinating with engineers & technical teams from different factories to ensure solution feasibility and compliance.
• Handle order booking, technical clarifications, and delivery follow-ups. Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers throughout the order lifecycle.
• Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range key issues that must be addressed - providing information, recommending solutions and courses of action, implementing actions.
• Ensure products and equipment meet local lift codes and regulations by keeping up to date with current legislation and anticipating possible future changes. Provide customers with guidance on compliance, product suitability, and actions required to meet legal and safety standards.
• Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
