Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • The Sourcing Engineer will be responsible for supplier development, cost analysis and flawless execute the sourcing transfer projects to meet quality, regulatory, timing requirement and saving goal. He/She needs to understand the importance of quality and regulatory compliance in medical device industry.
  • Support technical clarification during RFQ with suppliers and global BU.
  • Communication skills will be also very important. The Sourcing Engineer will have a lot of different interfaces (different Zimmer Biomet Business Units in US and Europe, different suppliers), he/she needs to ensure all the requirements have been correctly understood by suppliers regardless of language barrier.
  • The Sourcing Engineer must manage the relationships between different suppliers and Zimmer Biomet SBUs. To have a long-term partnership with our suppliers, he/she needs to have the ability to judge when there is conflict or confusion.
  • Work with suppliers on Continuous Improvements with SPC and 6 Sigma methodology to analyze/improve suppliers' manufacturing process capability and cost.
  • Generate monthly supplier KPI report.
  • Participate Quality Audits for Asia suppliers
  • Dealing with customer complaints, Initiate & track suppliers' corrective actions, foresee potential issues.

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of Sourcing/transfer management/supplier quality/quality control/product manufacture in electrical product
  • Strong project management and analysis skills
  • Strong problem-solving skill, familiar with APQP, PPAP, SPC, PFMEA, Control plan
  • Familiar with CMM, comparator, digital caliper, micrometer and other basic measuring instruments
  • Familiar with ISO 13485 or TS16949 quality system is a plus
  • Work independently and self-disciplined
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written English communication skills
  • Frequent travel is required
