About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Administrator to manage and maintain our on-premise servers, databases, storage systems, and mission-critical applications. You will play a key role in ensuring system stability, strong security posture, high availability, and smooth day-to-day operations for the organisation.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage and maintain Linux/Windows servers, virtualisation hosts (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage systems.
  2. Administer and optimise MySQL & PostgreSQL databases, including backup, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  3. Oversee NAS storage, PACS imaging retention, and rsync-based replication.
  4. Implement system hardening, patching, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
  5. Support web application environments (Yii2, Laravel, PHP/PostgreSQL stack).
  6. Maintain and improve system monitoring using Zabbix, Grafana, logs, and utilisation scripts.
  7. Execute backup and disaster recovery (DR) procedures and conduct readiness tests.
  8. Troubleshoot network issues (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, routing, firewall policies).
  9. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards.
  10. Provide Level 3 escalation support with root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
  11. Participate in infrastructure upgrades, scaling, HA improvements, and technology adoption.
  12. Provide standby/on-call support during maintenance windows or system outages.

What we're looking for

  1. Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.
  2. 5–7 years of hands-on experience in System Administration.
  3. Proficient with Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS, Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V.
  4. Strong scripting skills (Bash/Python/PowerShell).
  5. Solid knowledge in security hardening, patching, and access control.
  6. Skilled in troubleshooting TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, routing, and firewall-related issues.
  7. Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, Elastic Stack).
  8. Experience in backup/DR planning, NAS management, and database optimisation.
  9. Strong documentation and SOP-writing abilities.
