Compliance Specialist

We are looking for an enthusiastic Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team in Malaysia.
In this role, you are responsible for developing and managing compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across the group. This includes monitoring regulatory changes, conducting audits, delivering training, supporting investigations, and reviewing contracts and policies. The role also involves collaboration with stakeholders and providing compliance reports to senior management.
What you will be doing:
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs in accordance with relevant national and international laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), sanctions, export controls, data protection, and antitrust.
- Ensure the company operates with integrity and in adherence to all legal and regulatory obligations.
- Proactively monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on existing compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized compliance documentation, policies, and records.
- Conduct internal compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments; identify and report areas of improvement.
- Design and deliver compliance training to employees across various departments.
- Support internal investigations and external audits pertaining to regulatory matters.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address and resolve compliance issues and ensure consistent enforcement of policies.
- Assist in reviewing and drafting agreements, contracts, and internal policies to ensure compliance alignment.
- Prepare compliance reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Provide other legal support when it is required.
What you should have:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a compliance, regulatory, or legal role, preferably in a corporate or regulated environment and with exposure to regional compliance work.
- Sound understanding of global compliance frameworks, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
