Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

This role is to carry out the responsibilities in ensuring that the Internal Assurance's data science capabilities are effectively implemented and operated, especially in the design, development and operation of the continuous auditing technologies and processes. The role will essentially help IA to innovate in gaining insights on the risks, governance and controls through advancement in audit automation technologies and processes such as data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics Process Automation (RPA).

What are you accountable for?

• Analyse audit analytics requirements and translate into audit automation solutions using applicable technologies e.g. ETL, data analytics, AI and/or RPA
• Develop, test, implement, operate and maintain ETL, data analytics, AI and/or other automation solutions using suitable tools or systems with satisfactory quality, accompanied with adequate level of documentation
• Liaise with stakeholders to obtain continuous data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain a suitable database platform for IA's automation purposes
• Design and develop data reporting tools and processes for continuous assurance results, which include data visualization using related data visualization tools
• Identify new ideas for process improvements/enhancements and develop, test and implement using related current technologies/methodologies for roll-out
• Implement and carry out adequate data governance activities to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of stored and processed data by the continuous assurance platform
• Provide technical support to the team and/or business counterparts in the areas of technical audit data analysis, automation and related tools/technologies as well as coaching the team on usage of those tools/technologies
• Working closely and build relationship with Stakeholders for ensuring effective continuous assurance service deliverables from Internal Assurance Division
• Providing consultative advice to Stakeholders by identifying and recommending value-added data analytics insights and approach

What do you need to have for this role?

• Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering
• Masters in Data Science / Data Analytics Certifications will be an added advantage
• 4-6 years of total working experience (At least 3+ years of working experience relevant to the field of data science
• Technical expertise in data analytics, data visualization, machine learning and ETL techniques
• Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL), programming languages (e.g. Python), SQL scripting, ETL platforms (e.g. MS SSIS), data reporting and visualization tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Power BI etc.)
• Proven knowledge utilising common data science toolkits such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
• Proficient in data visualization and data storytelling
• Strong statistical, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and technologies e.g. Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS etc.
• Passionate in learning new technologies and skills

Desirable

• Proven experience in building predictive models
• Knowledge and/or proven experience in using RPA tools (e.g. UiPath)
• Internal or external auditing experience
