Job Summary

We're looking for a creative and skilled Pastry Chef to lead our dessert and pastry section. You'll handle everything from recipe development to daily production, ensuring top-notch quality and presentation. This role fits someone who's passionate about crafting desserts that look as good as they taste.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and produce all pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to menu and seasonal demand.
  • Develop new recipes and improve existing ones for taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train junior bakers or pastry assistants.
  • Maintain stock levels and ensure ingredients are fresh and well-stored.
  • Manage kitchen hygiene and adhere to all food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor consistency, portioning, and cost control.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and decoration styles.
  • Creativity and a strong sense of presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented mindset with leadership skills.
  • Flexible to work mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Bonus Points

  • Diploma or certificate in Pastry Arts / Culinary Arts.
  • Experience in café, bakery, or hotel pastry kitchen.
  • Familiar with modern plating and dessert trends.
