About the role

Mercure Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie is seeking an experienced Hotel Duty Manager to join our dynamic team in Shah Alam, Selangor. As a Hotel Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This full-time position will have you leading the front office and guest services team, while also contributing to the overall strategic direction of the hotel.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage the daily operations of the front office, including reception, concierge, and guest services
  2. Oversee the check-in and check-out process, ensuring a seamless experience for all guests
  3. Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  4. Coordinate with other departments to ensure the efficient delivery of hotel services
  5. Manage and supervise the front office team, including scheduling, training, and performance management
  6. Contribute to the development and implementation of hotel policies and procedures
  7. Assist in the preparation of reports and data analysis to support decision-making
  8. Represent the hotel and engage with external stakeholders, such as travel agents and corporate accounts

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Hotel Duty Manager or Front Office Supervisor role
  2. Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  4. Ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on training and development
  5. Proficient in using hotel management software and Microsoft Office suite
  6. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, additional languages are a plus
  7. A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
