You will engage with key decision-makers, collaborate with clinical specialists, expand our market presence by achieving sales targets in strategic accounts.
Job Summary
The Business Development Account Manager is responsible for driving commercial growth and market share expansion for BD's Specimen Management Portfolio in within a designated territory in Malaysia. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key customer
and delivering value through BD's innovative pre-analytical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute business development plans to grow the Specimen Management portfolio across various sectors, including B2B, research, private and public healthcare institutes.
- Identify and develop new market opportunities including tenders, strategic partnerships, and key account conversions.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to align local strategies with broader business objectives.
Customer Engagement & Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including laboratory managers, procurement teams, and clinical decision-makers.
- Conduct regular customer visits, product presentations, and solution-based discussions to drive portfolio adoption.
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions with strategic accounts.
Market Intelligence & Portfolio Positioning
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions.
- Position BD's Specimen Management solutions as the standard for quality and efficiency in specimen collection and transport.
- Support marketing initiatives including workshops, webinars, and product launches.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
- Provide feedback to global teams on product performance, customer needs, and market dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare sales, business development, or account management.
- Proven track record in managing complex customer relationships and driving commercial success.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and diagnostic processes is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix organization.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
