Job summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Film Production Engineer with experience in precision film manufacturing, machine design, and process development. The candidate will work closely with our UK R&D team as well as engineering and production teams in China to support the development, qualification, and scale-up of advanced film manufacturing processes.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Operate and support the R&D film production machine, ensuring stable and accurate process performance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the full film production process, including key parameters and control methods.
  • Lead technology transfer activities from R&D machine operating principles to mass production film machine suppliers.
  • Gain full expertise in the qualification and evaluation of nickel tooling used in film production.
  • Develop knowledge of film inspection technologies and film defect classification methodologies.
  • Work closely with the production team to analyze and establish correlations between film defects and LCD defects.
  • Collaborate with UK R&D teams during extended visits (1–2 months per trip) for training, process alignment, and joint development.
  • Coordinate with China-based engineering and production teams to support process improvement and scaling.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in related field or Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science will also be considered.
  • 3-5 years working experience in precision film manufacturing, including machine design and process development, is required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to the UK for 1–2month visits (company-funded).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with international teams.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
  • Knowledge of defect inspection systems, optical measurement, or thin-film processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
