JOB SUMMARY:

Sunway University is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Applied Behaviour Analysis within the Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences. The incumbent will play a key role in delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as conducting impactful research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching & Academic:

  • Teach core Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) modules and selected undergraduate psychology subjects.
  • Develop and update syllabi, learning materials, assessments, and rubrics.
  • Supervise student research at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
  • Engage in scholarly research in ABA or related areas.
  • Provide student advising and academic mentorship.

Practicum Coordination:

  • Coordinate practicum sites, placements, scheduling, supervisor assignments, and evaluation processes.
  • Ensure practicum meets accreditation, ethical, and supervision standards.
  • Monitor student progress, conduct evaluations, and provide feedback.
  • Maintain communication with internal clinic teams and external ABA agencies.
  • Support applied learning activities and ABA services within the University's clinic to enhance student training and community engagement.
  • Organise practicum orientation, supervisor training, and professional development workshops.
  • Maintain documentation related to practicum performance, site partnerships, and regulatory requirements.

Research, Service & Engagement:

  • Conduct and collaborate on ABA-related research.
  • Participate in programme promotion, outreach, and recruitment efforts.
  • Contribute to School and University service roles; senior applicants are expected to assume leadership and administrative responsibilities.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with community organisations to support placements and research.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lecturer: Master's degree in ABA or equivalent; Senior Lecturer: PhD in ABA or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years post-training clinical experience delivering ABA services to diverse populations.
  • Eligible for membership in the Malaysia Association of Behaviour Analysis (MABA).
  • Experience in ABA clinical or educational service delivery and supervision.
  • Teaching experience at tertiary level preferred.
  • Able to supervise research, provide clinical mentorship, and support student development.
  • Willing to teach in evenings/ weekends or travel for on-site supervision when required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with research methodology, data analysis, and evidence-based practice is advantageous.
  • Experience with postgraduate supervision and ABA research designs is an added advantage for Senior Lecturer applicants.
  • Leadership or programme coordination experience required for Senior Lecturer roles.
  • Knowledge of the ABA and psychology landscape in Malaysia preferred.
