About the Role:
The Senior Data Centre Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for leading the design, operation, and reliability of critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in mission-critical data centre environments. The role requires strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical infrastructure, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to support both design and operations teams in ensuring system reliability and uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, planning, and maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical systems (HV/LV distribution, UPS, standby generators, cooling, lightning protection, earthing, etc.) in high-reliability data centres.
  • Perform detailed electrical and mechanical calculations, review system performance, and recommend preventative and proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during equipment failures and critical events, ensuring rapid resolution.
  • Oversee infrastructure upgrades, preventive maintenance programs, and system enhancements to minimise downtime and extend asset life.
  • Support the preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational SLAs, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with facility operations, project teams, and contractors for seamless project delivery.
  • Guide engineers and contribute to process improvement across design and operations.
  • Follows operational processes and ensures services and infrastructure meets operational service level agreements (SLAs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree/Masters in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in data centre or critical facilities engineering (design, operations, or both).
  • Proven expertise in critical infrastructure design and maintenance, including redundancy and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, etc.).
  • Proficiency in design and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
