US MNC seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Shared Services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance support. This role requires collaboration across departments and a proactive approach to month-end closing and audit readiness.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform day-to-day accounting operations within a shared services environment
  • Handle journal entries, accruals, and adjustments with precision
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts accurately and timely
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify process improvements
  • Collaborate with operations teams to provide financial insights and support
  • Advise operational stakeholders on finance-related matters, ensuring compliance and efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies within the shared services framework
  • Participate in periodic stock takes and perform inventory reconciliations
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and streamline processes
  • Provide accounting support to other plant locations as needed

Requirements :

  • Bacherlor's Degree in Accounting,Finance or related field
  • 5 years or more of accounting experience, preferably in a shared services or multinational environment
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle etc)
  • Experience with stock take and inventory processes
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to work independently or in a team
  • Able to travel overseas to support other plants when required
  • Experience with automation tools or process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of IFRS or local GAAP
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be willing to work at Penang Island, Malaysia.
  • This role is based in Penang and reporting to Singapore Office.
