Key Responsibilities :

1. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse existing processes using time and motion studies, value stream mapping, and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and waste.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects to drive lean transformation.
  • Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

2. Production Efficiency & Line Balancing

  • Design, balance, and optimize production lines (including SMT, assembly, and test) to maximize throughput and efficiency.
  • analyse cycle times, takt time, and throughput rates to meet output targets.
  • Establish labour standards and monitor KPIs like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and First Pass Yield (FPY).

3. Facility & Workspace Design

  • Plan and design efficient factory layouts, material flow paths, and workstations using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Integrate automation and robotics into production lines.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to 5S, ergonomic, and safety standards (ESD, OSHA).

4. Cost Reduction & Resource Management

  • Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities by reducing material waste and improving labour efficiency.
  • Justify capital expenditures through ROI analysis and business case development.
  • Collaborate with procurement to evaluate alternative materials and suppliers.

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Utilize statistical analysis and simulation software to model processes and predict outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on findings, project status, and performance metrics for management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or manufacturing optimization.
  • Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).
  • Hands-on experience with time studies, work measurement, and production line balancing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout design.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred :

  • Experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim).
  • Project Management experience or certification (PMP).
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage for supporting overseas operations.
