Basic Purpose of Role:

The Wellness Counselor will work closely with Cognizant's Site Level / Global Wellness team to implement evidence-based programming designed to support associate's mental health and wellbeing. This role will function to ensure personnel safety/psychological wellbeing is considered the highest priority. The Counselors is responsible for determining the type, nature and availability and schedule all of wellness activities, onboarding activities, personal 1-1 (F2F) and handling all personnel concerns related thereto.

The Wellness Counselor will help associates improve their work-life balance, uncover and overcome limiting beliefs and patterns, improve the health of their business relationships, and much more. The Wellness Counselor will have the knowledge and skills needed to help organizations implement programs that make life-changing improvements to enhance the growth of the associates and sustenance of the business.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and executes at a minimum monthly group counseling sessions and individual coaching sessions (working side by side with the Site Level Wellness POC)
  • Provides crisis intervention, crisis assessment, and consults with external EAP provider when needed (with the guidance and suggestions of the Site Level Wellness POC)
  • Conducts training, screenings, surveys and health-risk assessments as needed.
  • Engages in staff and leadership meetings, case management, and consults with program managers as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with all related stakeholders as part of a multi-disciplinary mental health team.
  • Prepares and maintains reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of operations.
  • Tracks the administration and completion of Performance Evaluations for the assigned Engagements' Performance Management Program as necessary
  • Conducts assessments of an organization's current health status to identify any potential risks to employees
  • Leads efforts to ensure associates develop support in the areas of physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Must bring 2 or more years of experience in employee wellbeing, public health education, health + wellness benefits or related fields.
  • Must be able to work in an 24/7 work environment and shifts, if required
  • Must be certified or licensed to provide individual and group counseling session
  • Experience in crisis management program planning, and prevention
  • Experience leading and facilitating wellness classes or groups
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Ability to work in fast and evolving workflows with eye for detail
  • Ability to work under high pressure
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are an asset)
