About the role

We are building ProtectHealth's first AI/ML ecosystem, and you will be one of the first engineers shaping it. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will take predictive models from our Data Scientists and turn them into scalable, production-ready systems powering fraud detection, claims automation, provider insights, and national-level healthcare improvements.

This is a rare greenfield opportunity to build MLOps from the ground up and directly impact millions of Malaysians.

What you'll be doing

  1. Build and deploy ML models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, etc.
  2. Develop data pipelines, feature engineering workflows, and automated training processes.
  3. Deploy models using FastAPI/Flask, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  4. Monitor model performance and retrain where needed.
  5. Work with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and clinicians to translate ideas into production systems.
  6. Explore emerging ML/MLOps tools to push innovation within HTU.

What we're looking for

  1. Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  2. Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in machine learning model development and deployment.
  3. Strong experience with Python ML stack (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
  4. Experience deploying real-world ML models into production.
  5. Familiarity with Linux, Docker, Git, and SQL.
  6. Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) is an advantage.
  7. Curious, fast learner, and comfortable in an early-stage AI environment.
