  1. Technical Documentation & Administration

  2. Drawing Control: Manage and maintain the repository of engineering drawings, specifications, CAD files, and technical manuals, ensuring that the latest revisions are used by all relevant departments (Production, Quality, etc.).

  3. Record Keeping: Prepare, organize, and file technical reports, test data, process control documents, and quality records (e.g., FMEAs, control plans).

  4. Documentation Formatting: Assist engineers in creating and standardizing work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and training materials for the manufacturing floor.

  5. Project & Team Support

  6. Project Tracking: Track the progress of engineering projects, tooling modifications, or equipment installations, helping to ensure timelines are met.

  7. Meeting Coordination: Schedule and prepare materials for engineering meetings, take detailed minutes, and follow up on assigned action items.

  8. Data Entry & Analysis: Input production and quality data into spreadsheets or databases and assist engineers with preliminary data compilation or basic statistical summaries.

  9. Manufacturing & Process Assistance

  10. Materials Coordination: Assist with the ordering, tracking, and staging of materials, components, or test samples required for new product development or process trials.

  11. Equipment Monitoring: Help monitor the performance of manufacturing equipment or test jigs, reporting any anomalies or potential maintenance needs to the relevant engineer.
  12. Shop Floor Support: Occasionally visit the manufacturing floor to collect data, take measurements, or observe process trials under the direction of an engineer.

Requirements & Qualifications

The requirements often prioritize organizational skills, attention to detail, and a foundational technical understanding.

Education & Experience

  • Education: A Diploma or Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline is typically required.
