About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and dynamic Learning & Development (L&D) Manager to lead our training initiatives across retail operations and HQ functions. The Manager is responsible for leading the strategic direction, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all learning initiatives across the organization. This includes leadership development, functional capability building, retail operational training, and onboarding programs. The role ensures alignment between business needs and talent development to support the company's growth and future readiness
Key Responsibilities :
L&D Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement learning strategies aligned with business growth and future talent needs by identifying company-wide training gaps through analysis and leadership collaboration.
- Lead the design and execution of targeted development programs for key roles, including Category Managers, Store Operations teams, and Foreign Workers.
Program Development & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of comprehensive training modules, including technical, soft skills, leadership, and compliance programs.
- Manage large-scale initiatives such as Category Manager development, customer service and communication workshops, safety hygiene training and localized onboarding program for foreign workers including video-based learning.
Retail Capability Building
- Design/ Organise learning trips for best practice sharing.
- Manage HRDC grant applications and ensure timely completion of related documentation.
- Support new store launches with L&D programs to build leadership and operational readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Management
- Work closely with business leaders Operations and HRBPs to embed learning in daily operations.
- Manage internal and external training vendors, budgets, and mentor a small L&D team.
- Promote a strong learning culture across the company.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Track and Measure learning effectiveness and ROI through structured evaluation frameworks and post-program impact assessments.
- Share success stories and insights to highlight outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
- Handle any ad-hoc assignments as required to support evolving business and learning needs.
Key Requirements:
Experience & Education
- Preferable to have Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Education, or similar field.
- Minimum 6–8 years in L&D, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Retail or FMCG background is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong in training needs analysis, design, delivery, and evaluation.
- Experience working with diverse groups, including foreign workers.
- Able to create engaging training using various formats (classroom, online, video).
- Great communicator and collaborator.
- Familiar with HRDC claims and training program documentation.
