Our client Abbott Penang (Formerly Known as St. Jude Medical) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team

What you'll be doing?
  • Cloud expertise: Leverage your knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud to manage and optimize database performance in multi-cloud environments.
  • PostgreSQL mastery: Apply your skills in PostgreSQL provisioning, configuration, and management to ensure smooth database operations.
  • Performance optimization: Monitor and enhance database performance, identifying and resolving potential issues to maintain optimal reliability.
  • Security and compliance: Safeguard database security by monitoring access, preventing unauthorized entry, and adhering to compliance procedures.
  • Disaster recovery: Maintain backups and conduct disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Site Reliability Engineers, as well as cross-functional teams, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Automation development: Create innovative automation technologies for efficient data loading and refresh activities.
  • Migration expertise: Lead database migrations from legacy platforms to multi-cloud PostgreSQL environments.
Who are they looking for?
  • Educational background: Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Science, or related fields.
  • PostgreSQL experience: 3-5 years of experience working with PostgreSQL database technology, particularly in multi-cloud environments.
  • Cloud proficiency: Demonstrated ability to manage PostgreSQL databases in Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud environments.
  • Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and communication abilities, with a systematic approach to tackling challenges.
  • Versatility: Capability to handle multiple assignments and thrive in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.
  • Performance optimization: Experience in enhancing database performance, managing issues, and implementing backup strategies.
  • Security awareness: Understanding of access management and database security best practices.
  • Cloud certifications: While not required, Multi-Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) certifications are highly valued.
