Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with daily procurement operations for fresh vegetables (local and imported).
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply conditions to secure competitive deals and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure consistent product quality and stable supply.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, especially from China, to support long-term business growth.
  • Handle all import and export documentation, permits, shipping arrangements, and regulatory compliance for fresh produce.
  • Monitor market price trends, seasonal availability, supply fluctuations, and farming cycles to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare purchasing forecasts and demand planning based on sales trends, historical data, and seasonal patterns.
  • Coordinate closely with Warehouse, QA, Sales, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth end-to-end supply chain flow.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic evaluations; resolve delivery delays, quality issues, or supply disruptions promptly.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, food safety standards, and import regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost control, quality consistency, and inventory turnover.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Agriculture, or related field (preferred).
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in purchasing—ideally in fresh produce, agriculture, FMCG, or food-related industries.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Hands-on experience in import/export operations and dealing with international suppliers, especially China.
  • Solid understanding of vegetable seasonality, grading, quality standards, and pricing structures.
  • Experienced in demand forecasting, market analysis, and inventory planning.
  • Good command of English, Mandarin (advantage), and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with multiple priorities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM5, RM6,000.00 per month
