Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Technician to join our team at Weng Cheong Electrical (M) Sdn. Bhd., based in Selayang, Selangor.

As a Senior Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work. You will lead on-site activities, ensure safety compliance, and provide technical support to both customers and junior technicians. This role also involves handling customer requirements, managing payment collection, and ensuring all work meets company standards and safety regulations.

This position requires someone who is disciplined, proactive, and able to work independently. The boss is hands-on and moves fast, so you'll thrive if you're responsible, focused, and able to deliver results without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Installation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting / Pemasangan, Penyelenggaraan & Pengesanan Masalah Elektrik

• Perform electrical installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. / Melaksanakan kerja pemasangan, penyelenggaraan pencegahan, pengesanan masalah dan pembaikan sistem elektrik untuk projek kediaman, komersial dan industri.
• Ensure all wiring, components, and systems comply with company standards and safety regulations. / Memastikan semua pendawaian, komponen dan sistem mematuhi piawaian syarikat serta peraturan keselamatan.
• Diagnose faults and apply effective solutions to reduce downtime. / Mengesan punca kerosakan dan melaksanakan penyelesaian berkesan bagi mengurangkan masa henti operasi.
• Monitor system performance and maintain detailed service records. / Memantau prestasi sistem dan menyediakan rekod perkhidmatan yang terperinci.

2. Site Supervision & Technical Leadership / Penyeliaan Tapak & Kepimpinan Teknikal

• Lead and guide junior technicians and subcontractors during on-site work. / Menyelia dan membimbing juruteknik junior serta subkontraktor semasa kerja di tapak.
• Plan and coordinate daily activities to ensure smooth project execution. / Merancang dan menyelaras aktiviti harian bagi memastikan pelaksanaan projek berjalan lancar.
• Conduct inspections to verify quality and compliance. / Menjalankan pemeriksaan bagi memastikan kualiti dan pematuhan kerja elektrik.
• Provide technical support, training, and on-site guidance. / Memberi sokongan teknikal, latihan serta panduan praktikal di tapak.
• Enforce safety standards and promote a safe working environment. / Memastikan pematuhan terhadap piawaian keselamatan dan memupuk persekitaran kerja yang selamat.

3. Customer Service & Payment Handling / Khidmat Pelanggan & Kutipan Bayaran

• Interact with customers to understand their needs and explain electrical work clearly. / Berinteraksi dengan pelanggan untuk memahami keperluan mereka serta menerangkan kerja elektrik dengan jelas.
• Deliver high-quality service to ensure customer satisfaction. / Memberikan perkhidmatan berkualiti tinggi bagi memastikan kepuasan pelanggan.
• Address service-related issues promptly and professionally. / Menangani isu perkhidmatan dengan segera dan profesional.
• Collect payments from customers upon job completion with proper documentation. / Mengutip bayaran daripada pelanggan selepas kerja disiapkan dengan rekod yang lengkap.
• Uphold company professionalism and maintain a positive customer relationship. / Mewakili syarikat secara profesional dan mengekalkan hubungan baik dengan pelanggan.

4. Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance / Pematuhan, Keselamatan & Jaminan Kualiti

• Ensure all electrical work complies with regulations and company standards. / Memastikan semua kerja elektrik mematuhi peraturan dan piawaian syarikat.
• Conduct safety inspections and enforce safe work practices. / Melaksanakan pemeriksaan keselamatan dan menguatkuasakan amalan kerja selamat.
• Verify completed work for accuracy and safety before handover. / Memeriksa hasil kerja yang disiapkan untuk memastikan ketepatan dan keselamatan sebelum diserahkan.
• Report any safety incidents or hazards immediately. / Melaporkan sebarang insiden keselamatan atau bahaya dengan segera.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality across all operations. / Mempromosikan budaya keselamatan dan kualiti di semua peringkat operasi.

5. Tools, Documentation & Continuous Improvement / Alat, Dokumentasi & Penambahbaikan Berterusan

• Prepare necessary tools, materials, and equipment before heading to job sites. / Menyediakan semua peralatan, bahan dan kelengkapan yang diperlukan sebelum ke tapak kerja.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles after each job. / Membersihkan dan menyelenggara peralatan, kelengkapan serta kenderaan selepas setiap kerja.
• Update job progress and report work completion accurately and on time. / Mengemas kini kemajuan kerja serta melaporkan status kerja dengan tepat dan mengikut masa.
• Maintain accurate service reports and project documentation. / Menyediakan serta menyelenggara laporan perkhidmatan dan dokumentasi projek dengan tepat.
• Identify areas for improvement in service quality and efficiency. / Mengenal pasti peluang untuk menambah baik kualiti perkhidmatan dan kecekapan kerja.

Qualifications / Kelayakan

• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, preferably within an industrial work environment.
• No formal certification required, but having a relevant electrical certificate or license will be an added advantage.
• Must hold a valid Malaysian lorry driver's license (GDL/E for lorry, D for van). /
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety procedures. /
• Able to perform on-site inspections, fault diagnosis, and repair work independently and efficiently.
• Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled in using electrical tools, testing instruments, and measurement equipment.
• Capable of preparing and maintaining tools and equipment before and after each job.
• Able to update job progress and communicate clearly with the team and customers.
• Responsible, punctual, and hardworking with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with colleagues and customers professionally.
