Job Summary:

The IT Support ensures smooth operation of all IT systems within the warehouse, including hardware, software, network, and warehouse management systems (WMS). They provide first-level support to end users, maintain critical infrastructure, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime in a fast-paced logistics and distribution centre environment.

The candidate will also drive the continuous improvement needed for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support

  • Provide on-site technical support for warehouse staff, including pickers, forklift drivers, and office users.
  • Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, tablet, printer, barcode scanner, and mobile device issues.
  • Assist with WMS terminals, handheld scanners, and label printers.

System & Application Support

  • Support Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP integrations, and custom logistics software.
  • Ensure uptime and performance of picking/packing systems, inventory scanning tools, and shipping label platforms.
  • Escalate software bugs or integration issues to developers or vendors.

Hardware & Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Maintain and repair IT equipment: PCs, network switches, routers, printers, RF scanners, CCTV, and VoIP phones.
  • Set up and relocate devices for new stations, racking zones, or new warehouse areas.
  • Monitor and maintain server room hardware (if onsite).

Network & Connectivity

  • Ensure strong Wi-Fi signal throughout the warehouse for handheld and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot network outages, slowdowns, and connectivity issues.
  • Work with network engineers on structured cabling and access point placement.

Asset Management

  • Track inventory of IT equipment.
  • Manage device assignments and replacements.
  • Handle RMA processes for defective hardware.

Operational Support

  • Be on standby during peak operations (e.g., end-of-day processing, holiday seasons).
  • Collaborate with operations managers to support smooth logistics and minimize tech disruptions.
  • Participate in system upgrades, rollouts, or migrations.

Documentation

  • Log support tickets, issues, and resolutions.
  • Maintain documentation of IT layouts, device locations, and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to improve warehouse tech workflows and training materials.

Reports

  • Generate reports from ERP/WMS and prepare requested reports, as and when requires.

Continuous Improvement

  • To drive continuous improvement as per the organization required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 3 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, inventory control, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with WMS, barcode/RF technology, and label printing systems (e.g., Zebra printers).
  • Troubleshooting IP-based devices (CCTV, VoIP, RF scanners).
  • Basic hardware repair and configuration.

Soft Skills

  • Fast response and multitasking under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Clear communication with non-technical warehouse staff.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to operational urgency.

Working Hours

  • May require shift work or flexible hours (early morning, night shifts during certain event).
  • On-call support for critical systems after hours (depending on SLA).
